Meet Joanna Parker

Tell us I little bit about yourself & your family! How many kids do you have? Ages? What are some of your favorite things to do?
My name is Joanna and I live in New Jersey with my husband, David, and our three kids Stanley (9), Eleanor (7), and Jane (5). As a family we love playing games like Spot the Difference, watching family movies in our bed altogether, and going every Sunday night for family Pizza night.
What is one thing that would surprise people to know about you?
I was on Shark Tank! By far the most thrilling and crazy experience of my life – I am really grateful that I did it with David.
Tell us about Yumble! What inspired you to create this company?
I created Yumble out of my own personal pain point. I have always been a healthy person who loves to eat and cook food, but I was finding it really frustrating (maddening even!) that I was spending so much time planning, prepping, preparing, cooking, and cleaning up from kids’ dinner every single day. I realized there must be an easier way for parents evertwhere to get foods they’re proud to serve (and that their kids actually want to eat!) on the table every single day!
What was your favorite experience being on Shark Tank?
My favorite part about being on Shark Tank is that afterwards I had so much support from my friends and community. I think for a long time people didn’t really understand what I was doing or how big my aspirations were (to reach children ALL across the country) and this gave them a glimpse into my vision. My kids were also really proud which felt great!
Where can moms order Yumble?
As a #MomBoss, what is some advice you have for other moms that want to start their own company?
Put on your thick skin and go for it! You will hear no a lot, there will be ups and downs, but it is really rewarding and exciting. There is nothing like starting your own business and seeing it go from a kernel of an idea to a fully operational company.
