Meet a Mom: Samantha Coppinger of The Lane Life Lifestyle Blog | Huntington & Smithtown Moms

I recently met via social media and got a chance to speak to Samantha Coppinger of The Lane Life Lifestyle blog.

She was born and raised right here in Huntington, NY and recently launched her blog to share her experience through motherhood, home life and fashion.

Where are you from originally and how long have you lived in town?
I am originally from Huntington, born and raised.  I Grew up here and went to St. Pats, right in the village and then to Huntington High School. My husband is from here as well.

Child(ren) and Age(s)?
Elisabeth “Elsie” 9 1/2 months

One thing people would be surprised to know about you…
I’m an only child.  I come from a really large family but I am the only one.  Some people are surprised by that because I am so close with my cousins, so they think they’re my siblings.

Anyone special you’d like to thank for helping you through parenthood?
I would love to thank both my mom and mother in law.  They are so awesome and supportive.  Also, my grandmothers because they really helped raise me and I think they helped guide me through all of this and showed me different things that my mom and mother in law didn’t show me.  When you’re the mom its a little harder to give advice — and grandmothers have no filter.

I’d also like to thank my husband- thank you for supporting me as a wife and for giving the opportunity to be a stay at home mom.

What made you want to start blogging?
I used to work as aTeacher’s assistant.  I’ve always worked in the teaching role.I worked at a dance studio since I was 13 years old, so I’ve always been in that big sister/mom phase.
When I became a mom I found there were things I wanted to know.  Connecting with other young moms is a huge thing.  It’s sometimes hard to connect with some moms.  Also, to tell my story with Elsie and my family.  We just bought a house in Huntington, it was a complete fixer upper so I wanted to show that through my blog  Theres a lot of people going through the same thing or curious about going through the same thing.  I found a lot of support with little things like our house, when we were doing renovations, I was 9 months pregnant and we were still putting walls up.  So its nice just to connect and go from there.

Favorite things to do with your kids?
Our favorite thing to do now is going through walks through the village.  She is so curious now.

Are you involved in a business venture, a local organization, a creative endeavor, or in the corporate world? Please share!
Right now I’m a personal blogger.  Mom, lifestyle blog.  Trying to show Huntington life as a young mom.

How has this community been instrumental in getting you to where you are now?
It’s literally everything to me.  Just the community itself with certain things.  In High school I was part of kick line and being a part of St. Patricks.  Church has been a huge part of my life as well.  The sense of community made me really want to raise my family here and not go anywhere else.  Little things like the Fall Festival and the Christmas Parade just give Huntington a sense of community and small town vibe, even though it’s such large place.

Thank you Samantha, for letting us learn a little bit about you, and thank you for your continued support with Huntington Moms!
